HumansX launches Wuji dexterous hand and data glove in Japan
The hardware combines a 20-degree-of-freedom robot hand with a tactile glove designed to capture human manipulation data for teleoperation and AI training.
TOKYO -- HumansX has begun selling Wuji Technology’s 20-degree-of-freedom dexterous robot hand and tactile data glove in Japan, offering researchers and robotics developers a combined system for recording human hand movements and transferring them to robotic hardware.
The Tokyo-based company announced Oct. 6 (Japanese-language report) that it became an authorized Japanese distributor for the Wuji Hand 2 and Wuji Glove, both developed by Shenzhen, China-based Wuji Technology. HumansX is also offering setup, technical support and data-collection services.
The Wuji Hand 2 is a five-finger, 20‑DOF hand - four actively controlled joints per finger. Wuji maintains a control rate of 1,000 Hz across 20 axes while delivering a peak fingertip force of at least 12 newtons. The approximately 800-gram hand uses direct-drive, back-drivable joints and incorporates multi-axis force and torque sensing at the fingertips.
It supports Python and C software development kits, ROS 2 and simulation models for MuJoCo and Nvidia Isaac Sim, according to Wuji’s specifications. Wuji says these specs apply to its Beta1 hardware and may change.
The accompanying Wuji Glove is intended to capture both hand movement and contact information. The palm houses a 24×31 pressure-sensor matrix with 526 active points at 120 frames per second, and Wuji specifies ≤2 milimeter position accuracy with wired latency under 10 milliseconds.
Together, the devices capture human motion and touch, translate those movements to the robot hand, and gather demonstrations for imitation learning. HumansX lists data collection for vision-language-action models, humanoid manipulation research, teleoperation and sim-to-real testing among the intended uses.
HumansX said Wuji products are already being used by major Japanese companies but did not name the customers or disclose deployment numbers. Pricing and delivery times in Japan have not been announced; prices are available on request.
