LimX Dynamics Raises $200 Million Ahead of Planned IPO

Is it possible for a startup to become the next big name in robotics? Absolutely. Interest is rising in this industry. Companies are investing billions in this field. A number of companies have already prepared to come out with their initial public offerings. Among those companies, LimX is making headlines these days.

LimX Dynamics is a Chinese company that makes humanoid robots. It has raised $200 million in a pre-IPO funding round. This has increased the value of the company to $2.21 billion. The interesting thing is that the company started just four years ago. Within that limited time, it is now all set to make its public appearance in Hong Kong.

Speaking to reporters, Will Zhang, who is the founder of the company, said that “Listing is a must.” You don’t have another option. Going public is now not optional; it is a must.

LimX said that it is preparing for an IPO that will most likely take place in Hong Kong. And right now, it is in a confidential review phase.

Investors from all over the world participated. Some of the biggest names that caught everyone’s attention were Venture (UAE), GGG (Italy), and Redstone VC (Germany).

How is China’s Robot Sector Performing?

Think about technology, and you will definitely have one name instantly come to mind. And that, of course, is China.

This news isn’t about one company. This shows how determined China is towards robotics. The best part is that the country already has more than 100 companies that are actively working in robotics. They are building robots, and the government is also facilitating them. The government is doing its best to promote embodied AI.

The second half of the year has just started. And companies have already invested around $6.95 billion. Seems interesting?

Morgan Stanley said that the competition is getting tough. DeepRobot and Leju are two other names in the field. They are also planning to launch their IPOs soon. Morgan Stanley is highly hopeful. He expects the Chinese robot market to grow by 18% this year, with the delivery of 50,000 robots.

What LimX’s Robots Do

We all know where the world is heading. Companies want to switch to automation. So how can they ignore the robotics industry? They are doing their best to build humanoid robots. They want them to perform duties without humans. And this is exactly what LimX is after.

They want to build robots that require minimal or no human intervention. This is not all. The company has also delivered its robot Luna to South Korea. This robot is for entertainment purposes. Not only this, but they also have plans to send thousands of other robots to the Middle East.

Zhang is very optimistic about the future. He said they are done with the hardest challenge. And you know what the hardest part, according to him, is? Well, he thinks it is coming up with technology from scratch. He said that this is what we have already done. Now what’s the real challenge? To build robots that can help people in the real world.
